If you want not use the storage on your Nintendo you can buy the games card and put card in the Nintendo when you want to play the game. When you put the game card in the Nintendo there is only one socket so you can only have on set of data on the switch (excluding the games saved on the Nintendo) If the game is saved on the Nintendo that set of data will be saved on the switch.
